Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to emerge and are located on both the upper and lower sides of the back jaws. Known to surface during teenage years, they often cause problems for adults. Wisdom teeth failing to surface correctly can lead to painful and undesirable complications, such as swelling, gum disease, damage to other teeth, cysts and other internal mouth problems.

When the jaw has insufficient room for the wisdom teeth to surface completely, they become impacted (grow sideways) as a result. This often places force on surrounding bone structures and subsequently affects the development of other teeth. When this occurs, the wisdom teeth must be extracted.

At Katanning Dental, we understand that extracting your wisdom teeth may be a difficult decision to make. We will clearly outline your treatment, what it will involve and how to best care for your teeth post-extraction in order to make your decision as easy as possible.
